About Us

A Place, a Practice, and a Way of Gathering

Finca Luisa Pérez is more than a retreat venue. It is a place shaped by land, memory, and the simple act of bringing people together with care.

Set in the foothills above Fasnia on Tenerife’s quieter, protected east coast, the finca sits between ocean and mountain, overlooking the Barranco de Hérguez — a protected natural monument that can be entered on foot from the property. This landscape, with its depth, light, and quiet presence, shapes everything that happens here.

Originally a working Canarian farm, the finca has been carefully restored using traditional buildings and materials. Mature gardens, uncultivated terraces, caves, and shared spaces create an atmosphere that is rustic, exploratory, and grounded rather than polished or uniform. It is a place that invites people to slow down, wander, reflect, and gather — often all within the same day.

The Story of the Name

Finca Luisa Pérez takes its name from El Fuente de Luisa Pérez, an ancient well that still exists behind the property.

The ancient well

It feels fitting that a place named for a source of water has become a place where people come to replenish attention, creativity, and connection. The land holds its own memory, and our approach has always been to work with that — not to overwrite it.

Throughout the 20th century the finca was the centre of a farming collective for the surrounding area, growing and collecting produce, with the surplus shipped to distant lands. The original farmers wife is still fondly remembered by elder locals as she not only created the gardens, rich with medicinal plants, but also taught all the local girls how to read and sew.

Our Approach

We believe that retreats are shaped as much by their surroundings as by their schedules.

Light, sound, silence, shared meals, walking, and unstructured time all play a role in how people arrive, connect, and reflect. Our role is to create a setting that quietly supports this process — practically, emotionally, and environmentally — without imposing a particular style or agenda.

Finca Luisa Pérez is well suited to small and medium-sized retreats that value presence, depth, and thoughtful pacing. We regularly welcome yoga and movement retreats, wellbeing and therapeutic gatherings, creative residencies, and reflective group programmes.

The People Behind the Place

Libra Retreats is run by people with backgrounds in psychotherapy, music, creativity, and group facilitation. This informs how the finca is held — with attention to mood, group dynamics, and the small details that help people feel at ease.

We see hosting not as a transaction, but as a form of stewardship: caring for the land, the buildings, and the people who pass through them.

A Place to Gather

Finca Luisa Pérez can host up to 22 guests, allowing groups to stay together while still having space to breathe. Accommodation is arranged in shared suites with ensuite bathrooms, and the finca offers a range of indoor and outdoor spaces for practice, conversation, rest, and unstructured time.

Whether you are joining a retreat as a guest, or considering hosting one here, we see each gathering as a collaboration between people, place, and intention.

An Invitation

If this way of working with land and people resonates with you, you’re warmly invited to get in touch.
